the Code

Main Tour Overview

Go to Step 4
Installing the snippet of code is simple, but does require
that you have access to your website files and can edit
them. This is a one time operation - once
the code has been put into your site, you can manage the
content from iUpdateIt. If you don't think you can do this,
ask your web designer for help or
request us to install it for
you at no charge. The following page is some
tips to give you extra help with installing the code. |
Step 1: Configure |
This
first step is to choose how you want your new iUpdateIt
space to be displayed on your website. We have provided three
options that will help our site generate
the correct code for you. |
Step 2: Install the Code |
The
iUpdateIt system will automatically provide the HTML
code that you will need to install into your website.
It's typically two or three lines of HTML code that
simply tells your website where the iUpdateIt code is
and the ID for the box you wish to edit. Here's an
example of how the code will look. Feel free to install
this code below to see how it works! |
<table
width="350"><tr><td><div
id="IUI383ab3b0-b3d8-4fc8-bae9-61cb986d951f"></div></td></tr></table>
<script src="http://www.IUpdateIt.com/ws/Box/IUpdateIt_Add.aspx?ID=383ab3b0-b3d8-4fc8-bae9-61cb986d951f&Loc=IUI383ab3b0-b3d8-4fc8-bae9-61cb986d951f"
type="text/javascript"></script> |
You
then need to take this code and add it to your website. Every
website is designed differently using different software
and languages. This example uses Microsoft Expressions
Web®, but the basics apply to whatever was
used to create your website.
Find the spot on the
page where you want it, flip to "code view", and paste
the iUpdateIt code into your website. Below is some step by step
visual instructions that will show you how this is done. |

Step 3: Validate Installation |
After
you have completed adding the code into a website, the
changes are now “live”. You should then take a moment to
view it by going to your site to make sure it looks
satisfactory. If it does not look right than you can
easily change your configuration preferences above and
re-install the code as needed. If it does look correct,
then click “Validate” so we can confirm that you have
successfully installed the code correctly. If you did
do it right, you will get the following message. |
| |
If you
didn't do it right, then it's most likely you followed
one of the above steps incorrectly. In this case, either
try again, contact your web designer for help, or you
can
request us to do the installation for you. |
Once you have
completed the installation you will be able
to manage the content in iUpdateIt any time you wish - 24/7. |

Note: We are in no way responsible for the installation and
editing of your website when following these tips. The above is simply to help you
with the process of installing the iUpdateIt code. If you do
not know how to install the code or make a mistake that
breaks the functionality of your website, we are not
responsible for the issues and would like to encourage you
to contact a website developer/designer directly to help you
with this process or request us to install it for you. |
