\\r\\nThe Flagstaff Communicators\' Luncheon in August was all about learning to understand and communicate with Seniors. Carole Mandino (NAU Gerontology Institute) did a really interesting exersize at the beginning of the talk. She had everyone put blue tape around their knuckles to inhibit movement; had us put on latex gloves to reduce the sense of touch; we put cotton balls in our ears to reduce our hearing; and saran wrap over our glasses (which she provided) to reduce our sight. We then had to get our meal and have our initial conversation and introductions with all of this \\"gear\\" on. It gave us all a huge insight into what it means to begin losing your senses as you get older.

\\r\\nI would just like to offer kudos to the 2008 Board for doing such a great job. Carol has taken on the group and provided a beautiful new venue. I can\'t say enough about how good the food is at Jackson\'s Grill, the atmosphere and the same friendly faces time and time again.

\\r\\nI get discouraged still when I hear folks say \\"I\'m waiting for a topic that pertains to me.\\" Coming is about contributing to the overall group and its direction. If you\'re waiting for a luncheon suited to you it may never come. Your participation is what really brings about topics through synergy and frequent connections.
\\r\\n
\\r\\nIt was great today to see so many designers drawn to the eco-friendly printing and promotional items talk. With Julia Wright a former Communicator, and past President, and Kat Rutherford a past attendee and a huge advocate of getting out and networking, I felt they were well suited, and well deserving of giving a presentation. Communicators is really about participation \\"not about waiting in the wings. Whose going to be bold and motivated enough to take on Communicators 2009\\"
