Over 400 pieces of artwork was submitted by children, Kindergarten to the 12th Grade, from all over Northern Arizona. Fifty pieces were chosen by shelter staff, animal control, representatives of the Arizona Daily Sun, and many other members of our community. These works were displayed in the lobby and were taken out into the community where the public voted for their favorite works of art. Twelve winners were chosen and the shelter staff chose an additional piece as “Best of Show”.
\\r\\n
\\r\\nThe Coconino Humane Association hosted our awards ceremony on August 15, 2009 at Black Bart’s Steakhouse and over 120 people attended our luncheon. All of the products and services donated were presented to the thirty-seven finalists and thirteen winners of our contest.
\\r\\n
\\r\\nThe Coconino Humane Association\'s 2010 \\"Art for Animals\\" Calendars showcasing the finalists and winners artwork are now on sale at our shelter (Monday - Saturday) and at the Flagstaff Petsmart Adoption Center (Thurday - Monday).
\\r\\n
\\r\\nAll proceeds from the calendar sales will benefit the animals in our care.

\\r\\nCome out to the \\"Zoo\\" and help support the homeless and unwanted animals in Northern Arizona! This will be a fun benefit night for adults 21 years and older at the Museum Club - 3404 E. Route 66 - Flagstaff, AZ.
